Democrats have been warning us about global warming /climate change for decades. The window licking Republicans have denied its existence. Hmmm

Yep, paying more in taxes to Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton would stop hurricanes.

If you don't think this then you'll make the pagan climate gods mad and they'll flood your city.

RRRight. I can already see the effort here on TD to make this a failure of Gov. Cooper and the Biden admin
They tried it with Bush and Katrina, a totally unprecedented event. Now you're crying about it.

So now every hurricane is climate change?
Yes. All the ones before were natural occurrences. These though are our fault. Same thing caused the Maldives to now be underwater, the polar bear extinction, the end of snowfall in London, and the disappearance of glaciers in Glacier National Park.

Mountains funnel and concentrate the runoff. The towns are erected near rivers. The rivers rise by 20 feet. Things get wrecked.

The people in charge of Asheville and the majority of the surrounding areas focus on one thing, and that is tourism. It is all about money for the last 40 years in that area. Any funding going out is for tourists not locals. They are more concerned building parking decks and destroying the land for hotels along with those that come into the area and build on the side of the mountain a multimillion-dollar home for tax revenue but ignore the issues with erosion.

As someone (an outsider) who spends a lot of time in the area, this certainly seems like a significant issue from what I understand.

I’m not sure if or how it possibly has one iota to do with the CURRENT SITUATION really, though.

Has there been any word of the condition of the railroad track that runs along the French Broad to Asheville?

I have a sister who lives in Asheville. Last I heard from her was Friday morning ans the storm was coming through. Everything is going straight to voicemail now. Hoping this isn’t a dumb question, but does anyone know if there is a way to check on people there? We can’t get any info outside of what ive seen online.

I just messaged a friend to ask who is in Carey. I’m in Louisiana. I’ll update when she replies. Praying all is ok with your family there.
