Thank you, we need all the prayers we can get. I'm really praying for a miracle.

I would like to hear some replies from people that have fulfilled this "I always wanted one" and what are some people's own answers to this. I guess it's a reflection day for me today.

Yea - I'd always wanted a USA made guitar. I got a Gibson Les Paul about 3 years ago.

I'll usually do it when I have to go out to Vegas for work. They have a lot of good rental places, and you can take them out in the desert and go wild.

I've always wanted a soft top Jeep, bought a soft top Bronco instead. I love taking the top down when the weather is just right.

It's a simple joy I get in life.

Your time is limited too, you just don’t know it or may not realize it.

Going through something similar. Wife has had MS for 46 years. Still raised our two sons and had a 32 year career! She retired at 55. I kept working and saving thinking we’d travel (internationally) once I retired.

I retired 3 years to become my wife’s full time caregiver. We won’t be making those international trips. Thankful that we did a lot of N America travel before her condition worsened.

I recommend for those in their 30’s and 40’s to take those trips, don’t put off until retirement. Life sometimes gets in the way.

I with you on this man and words of wisdom there. My wife of 43 years was diagnosed with cancer April 2024. What a gut punch. We were told she had 2 months , tops. Here we are , 2 years later and she is doing well. Lots of prayer and excellent care! We are thankful for each day and do what we can to maximize the time. Praying the best for you and your wife.

I bought a Rickenbacker 4003 bass about 14 years ago. That turned into a buying spree on guitars. I have 10 now.

Tools.

I have an inordinate amount of money in woodworking tools, but I have a lot just in hand tools. I'd say over $7k in nice heirloom quality hand tools like a huge assortment of really nice hand planes and a bunch of nice chisels.

Bought my first motorcycle for 50th birthday. First I had ever ridden. One of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Enjoy the rides. Therapeutic for mental health.

I retired last March, wife and I spent a lot of time with grandkids. We do take “small” trips here and there. Only thing holding us back is health, her’s and mine, but we do stay on top of it. I’ve always warned my kids, I’m spending the inheritance

When those came out in 1985 I was in that age where I was too old to get one, but still young enough think it would be kinda awesome to have one.

I always wanted a chocolate lab. One with a championship bloodline that I could train and work with. When I turned 40 I got what I wanted. 3 years later and not only is he my best friend, but he's passed 2 masters trials and has his Master Hunter certification.

Roux's a good boy.

For me, it was a Rottweiler. I was blessed to have two. Loyal to the hilt.

Both are gone now

Amazingly I had two of the popular items here.

Santa brought me the GI Joe carrier for Christmas in 1985. Thing was legit awesome, used to sleep on the deck at night instead of my bed.

Dad and I restored a 69 Camaro around 1990 and I drove that a lot in HS. Had it in college some, we took turns keeping it.

I do not think there is anything I really want physical now, but there are experiences I would love to have. Starting with the first experience at top - retirement.

I just want to be the grandpa who can bring his kids and grandkids out to the camp in the woods whenever they want so they can learn and do stuff. I'm really not a huge hunter or outdoors expert, but it's because I didn't have that growing up. I hope that I can provide my kids and their kids the experiences that I wanted and didn't have. Also, I hope it's a place for the whole family to get away from life and get into the woods to be together whenever they want.

Hello you…are you me? Same here but with a fishing camp. Sounds like we are cut from the same cloth. I’m a simple man with simple pleasures. Just want to snuggle with my wife at night, cook some good food on the weekends, watch my Grandkids enjoy the outdoors and cheer for my Tigers.
