Drove to Houston this weekend for the first time in about two years. I remembered it was bad, but jesus christ, I'm convinced it's worse now.

I've seen Mario Kart tracks with safer layouts and better roadway surfaces.

For all the praise Texas gets for their roads, this stretch rivals anything LA DOT frickery could conjure.

Believe it or not, it’s become better in the last 2 months, those ‘S’ curves with the cement barriers on each side were death traps when an 18 wheeler was near.

The confusing as road stripes didn’t help at all.

West bound traffic going through Orange and east bound traffic on the west side of Beaumont right now is a crap shoot. I passed through there last month and they had both west bound lanes at Orange actually diverted to the service road just past the Orange welcome center. It was terrible.

Whichever asshat decided to keep the "rumble strips" INSIDE the travel lane needs his knuckles checked for sure.

We went to Austin last September and one of the on ramps was straight gravel. Never seen that before

I drove LC to Houston and back multiple times in the late 2000’s. It was a nightmare. It’s a coming of age thing at this point.

"Is this road ever going to get completed?"

The construction at Orange deserves all the criticism and ridicule drivers can muster. It is an absolute disgrace that it's taking this long.

As someone who drove Sulphur to Houston every weekend of 2019, let me tell you I’m surprised I never died on the stretch where it’s just cement blocks on either side and it made a S looking curve before hitting a bridge.

There is a 18 wheeler rest stop just before it and at 4AM they pulling out going 25 mph and screw you if you’re in the right lane. They coming and you better beware.

My wife and I went to San Antonio this spring and were in road construction damn near the whole way on I-10. We got a bit of a reprieve in Houston, but that was about it.

That stretch has been under construction since 1990 it seems.
