One or the other, cancers or viruses..completely eradicated from threatening life , but you could only choose one.

What would you choose?

Viruses.

I don't think we've weaponized cancer yet.

Viruses.

More people are affected by viruses than cancer.

I only ask the ot because I had a girl telling me for 20 minutes last night howmuch better the world wwould be if a huge killer in cancer was cured.

Which I agree, quality of life would be better for many..but imo viruses will always be a bigger "threat"

Then the doctors would be looking for jobs offshore when the price of oil goes back up.

Seems like cancer would be a bigger threat to people living in the US.

Cancer is a body malfunction, viruses are other living organisms, not only are there probably some unintended consequences to eradicating them, they also hold the potential to be useful tools in medicine.

Cancer without a doubt.

We do a ton of things, based off of viral researching of recombinant technology, using viruses to fight off bacteria, and other stuff that make potentially harmful viruses, of actual practical use.

If you like conspiracy theories, read Dr. Mary's Monkey. Essentially a story about how the government created cancer in the 60's to use against Castro and it backfired. This chick is the one that did it. Pretty big reach but it was still interesting since most of the story takes place in NOLA.

On July 21, 1964, Sherman was found dead in her apartment on St. Charles Avenue in New Orleans. The body had burn and stab wounds. The police report classified the death as a murder. An autopsy was performed by Monroe S. Samuels, M.D., on July 21, 1964. The autopsy report classified Sherman's death as a homicide. Dr. Samuels determined that Sherman died of a stab wound in her heart.

Journalist Don Lee Keith "observed that Warren Commission investigators started taking their testimony in new Orleans on the morning of July 21, 1964, several hours after Mary Sherman's murder". He agreed with this scenario in a 2007 book. Jim Garrison questioned the manner of Sherman's death, claiming that the autopsy report said her right arm and rib cage had been burned away, whilst the hair on her head remained unburned. According to Garrison, the body had been stabbed in the heart, liver, arm, leg, and stomach, and the wound to the heart hemorrhaged but the wound to the liver did not, indicating that she was alive at the time of the heart wound but already dead by the time the wound to the liver was inflicted.
