Looks like my compressor has failed.

Would like quotes from a few local companies for replacement inside and outside units.

I know Butcher is well known, but also pricey.

Recommendations please....

I shopped them all 2 years ago and went with Butcher. They were the only company that didn't try to upsell me. Others wanted to sell me WAY more than I needed. Also, they were able to send a crew the next day to install. Last, they sell trane

Another one for Manning.

Dave Broussard will try and put the did to you on weekends. Wanted to charge me $120.00 for labor which I was ok with. I knew it was the contactor and he quoted me over $200 for a 30 dollar part.

I wrote his tech a check for $120.00 to get out if my yard.

From my experience, just replace the whole damn outside unit if the compressor is gone. That's assuming that you don't have any warranties or anything. It's almost a wash

Also, if you do have to replace it I feel your pain. But buy a good brand. It does matter. I have rental properties so I'm always dealing with this shite. Trane, American Standard or Carrier

Butcher is the most well know. Quality company but very pricey. They also own the Trane distributor ship.

Butcher came to our house when our heater went out this winter (on an actual cold day) within an hour because we had a baby. He diagnosed the problem and fixed it that morning. Even told us how to make an emergency claim with our home warranty so we wouldn't have to pay for it.
