I'm not sure I buy it. Nothing about a period

ETA: Unless that happened from Jun 23-26

See I would have done this as a smart-arse way to make a point, but would have been satisfied enough knowing that she cared enough about the problem to try and call me multiple times to talk about it.

Am I the only one who desperately wants to know more details on all the (Non Verbal) responses he has listed?

Would it make it better if she would have said "no, I don't feel like having sex tonight" instead of an excuse?

Being married I would say rolled eyes or a grunt when you try to initiate.

No. Let me help you out. Many women, after they are married no longer want to have sex as frequently as they did when single and younger, they've got you. They also put on weight, get upset with themselves and the husband suffers because "I'm too fat" or "I feel gross" like the poor bastard in the op does. Only fools think getting married leads to more sex.

Probably

Why is it that guys get the "no communication" blame when chicks do it too?

"this is a side of him I've never seen before- bitter..."

love how women will initiate a change in the dynamic, then be perplexed at the result.

No shite. Did she push him away? Fart loudly? Throw a tampon at him? Make this gesture?

I've heard every one of those also. If I didn't know better, I would swear I made that spreadsheet. The reason I now better is that she stated they had sex 3 times in last 7 weeks. I'm way behind.

I agree with this. Ebbs and flows, but overall it is stronger than when dating.

Add kids and it seems to go way down...hence the FT family not having kids.

if you ask me the husband is to blame. He probably is actually asking "hey babe you wanna do it"...yeh that is a real mood setter

Obviously not true for all, but true for enough that it's a frequent issue in marital councelling and well known fodder for jokes and humor.
