After having Grace as a Category 1, the new projections have it taking quite a hit with land interactions in Jamaica and the Yucatán before going into Mexico as a tropical storm and quickly becoming a depression.

This would be the outcome that limits its speed and prevents as much destruction as possible imo. Curious to hear what Duke and RDS have to say

Weatherstar 4000 was the software the Weather Channel used back in the 90’s when they actually did more weather than propaganda. It gave you those beautiful, nostalgic graphics on page 43.

Land interaction early would be the ideal, outside of a blow to Haiti with a lot of rain.

At least after the Yucatan, there arent a lot of people where Grace would be going in.

On a less positive note, Grace is going to track over the part of the basin with warmest and deepest warm water.

Grace recon mission is up. Over the next 36 hrs the system will be moving over the most favorable area in the Atlantic basin for RI. Models are in good agreement that this stays way south and is a problem for Mexico.

Rds dc,

I noticed the models keep moving the tracks south, do you think this trend continues? I have to make decisions of flights and reservations by 3pm tomorrow.

ETA: going to Cancun on Thursday afternoon, currently booked south of Cancun almost to tulum. Can move to a different resort north of Cancun if needed.
