Holy smokes! Fred has shifted westward, and is motoring it's way over the hottest waters, and deepest eddies, of the Gulf of Mexico. It could be a Cat 4 behemoth when it makes landfall

Literally nothing is supporting this statement right now.

The wind shear that Fred should have to deal with won’t be favorable for significant intensification, though.

Hoping the shear does its job and it stays a TS

Were you here during last year's hurricane season?

Beyond that, it has been as hot as a two-bit whore, on dollar night, all through Florida, the gulf, and the gulf states.

That water is ready to give that heat up to a churner. History says we will see a cat 4 before Sept.

True but I think the poster’s statement was sarcastic.

Here’s the thing though- we always hear about “conditions being ripe for intensification” with warm waters in the Gulf yet Fred’s projected intensification is not much.
Why ?

Wind shear is projected to be unfavorable for significant intensification.

This is a bit much right now. It’s a disorganized storm at the moment.

Storms firing up this morning around Fred’s “center”. Things could get interesting by the end of the day today.

Wake up and the Landmass is back on the cone. Of course.

Hopefully this stays a name stealer and doesn't become Hurricane Baw.

Judging by their last comment, doesn’t sound like they were being sarcastic.

Between shear and disorganization, this storm would have a rough time strengthening anywhere near that level.

Hell, we don’t even see a properly stacked low and mid level circulation.
