When I was a kid the cone was the cone. The weather guys piles into smoke filled rooms and battled it out on where this thing was going. You could even help from home with your hurricane tracking chart.

Now, a bunch of computers randomly throw darts at the wall and give us a cone that moves every day. Of course it’s always right, they move it if it’s wrong.

Any clue where the center is on this thing now?

Or has it not reformed yet?

Should I be worried about my key largo trip next week with the storm behind Fred? Arriving there Thursday morning.

Clean, before, you asked:
quote:

Where are you guys predicting PT7 to go after Florida?

I answered:
quote:

After Jacksonville, it is going to visit the Carolinas

At this time, The NOAA cone showed it would go between Miami and the Bahamas, then run up the coast, with a curve to the right.

Now the cone has been changed, and shows a direct hit around Homestead, with it moving NW.

Feel like all these models are worthless because they are initializing with no real center

Levi seemed pretty convinced the center would reform north of cuba. That would push the track back 50 miles or so east

The NHC location of Fred doesn’t seem to be right. On satellite Fred looks to be way lower than that. Can someone explain?
