I want to believe that with the Wind Shear...

But we need a Strong mid October Cold Front to "Scour" the northern Gulf ; the water still plenty warm

Chances of development near Zero...hostile environment + some Dry air

But ....we could use some rain around here seeing how long range outlook calls for Dry October ; maybe the driest month on avg.

Agreed.

When was the last time there wasnt a landfall on the US. I dont think anything has hit this year (that I remember) even on the east coast...

And I am not posting this hoping for a storm. I am glad none have come ashore. We could use several years like this. My question is this seems rare? Is it?

Not sure about the east coast but wasn’t the heat dome year really quiet in the gulf.
