Are you insinuating that Gustav wasn’t a bad storm for Baton Rouge? I was in Donaldsonville for Gustav and that was the worst one of my life until Ida’s eye clipped me last year. Gustav was powerful and Baton Rouge was shredded by it.

Same for me at the time (9 days) but then Ida for me in AP south of Port Vincent set my new record - 12 days. For me personally, worst was Ida, then Gustav, then Andrew.

For Katrina parts of the area you live in were without power for almost two weeks.

Ida was more than 2 weeks for me, which was technically the longest in BR i have gone without power, but it was bc a tree fell in my backyard and knocked off the service from the house, and had to schedule an inspector to come out and sign off on it before Entergy could hook it back up

I wasn’t in this area for Katrina though. I was still in Donaldsonville then and we actually didn’t lose power at all for Katrina. I know my wife’s parents in St. Amant we’re out for 3-4 days for Katrina, though.

I live off Hwy 30 by ascension hospital .

For Katrina: I lost power for just 3 hours.

For Gustav: lost power for 5 days.

For Ida: lost power for 21 hours. Got power for 1.5 hours then power went out for another 24 hours. Apparently, an undiscovered tree branch pulled down a new transformer.

Hell even for me that Texas hit is too close for me. I was in BR for Gustav and the Northshore for Katrina, Isaac, and Ida. I’ve got the collective cane ptsd.

I’ve had enough of that shite. When I retire I’m selling and moving to Tennessee or something. I don’t want to spend my retirement years dealing with potential hurricanes and fighting insurance companies and stuff.

I'm getting out soon, maybe to Colorado Springs at least that's the initial plan. I have family there and snow doesn't bother me.
