My street in Metairie is one that floods if it rains hard. It floods because my street doesn't have enough drains on it. The underground drainage system is definitely suitable, because if the rain slacks up any, the floods go away within 5 or 10 minutes. Metairie drains well

there are some bad parts in Metairie, but the worst (under 1-10 from Oaklawn to Lake) is due to having to share pumping with Orleans along the 17th st canal.

Luckily my street never floods

Pfft that's the tree company and energy companies fault. They're suppose to remove these bitches but they haven't yet around the power lines.

My street floods in a light drizzle. I'm kind of fricked if any major storm dumps water on us.

Big change from previous runs with an actual defined center at 18 hours.

Takes the tip of Yucatan at 36 hours, weakens a little.

Sunday monring south of Morgan City as a hurricane. Cuts NNE on the next frame.

My street in Metairie will get knee deep before the pumps kick on, but when they do the water is gone in about 30 seconds. They pump it all in to Pontiff playground.

I don't like that track we'd take the NE side. I remember Gustav hitting us pretty freaking hard over here. It might've even been worse than Katrina.

I didn't lose power or direct tv signal through Gustav

I actually saw a tornado spawn in my backyard during Gustav. It only lasted like 10 seconds but that was crazy to see. I had Direct TV in Katrina and Gustav. Somehow the dish survived and they had some mean gusts. I remember stepping outside a minute and one basically knocked me over.

Gustav definitely hit the Lafourche/Terrebonne area pretty hard...

If it takes that it hits us as a Cat1/2?

This going to ruin my duck season huh? What kind of storm surge would be expected if this thing hits Morgan City?

If you is scared, y'all can come to my house this weekend. It'll be a jolly time of drinking, children running wild, and watching the LSU tigers get curb stomped by the gators.

A track like that changes the calculus for BR bigly. Puts us in line for a lot more wind. Your typical east side/west side thinking is in okay here.

ETA: it's still the GFS and just one run. Don't take that to the bank yet but it should make our BR folks consider their hurricane prep now.

Unfortunately, doesn't look like this storm is going to knock TV sets out before LSU plays. That would've been a positive in this storm.

I would welcome our DTV being knocked out, but definitely not the Internet. Need Netflix for the children

I would also have no clue how to find LSU via Roku/ESPN watch, or whatever it is that we sometimes use to watch smaller games.
