I'm getting married outside Saturday afternoon around Lafayette. How screwed am I? Just my luck.

Most favorable area for strengthening is in the deep warm water between Central America and the yucatan. Should have low shear and I expect it to hit hurricane status before the yucatan.

Might be a little more shear than thought yesterday, but certainly not enough to discount strengthening. It's got to organize though and it won't have a ton of time over the bathwater to do it. You might be a little bullish running up to hurricane before Yucatan, but it's certainly possible.

Current steering thinking should almost certainly bring it across the Yucatan at least. Just how much interaction too is in question.

So then, it's a question of how much organization we have when it hits the gulf. So many questions. So close to a landfall nobody here was expecting yesterday.

Big fun.

As of now, you're fine aside from the whole getting married part.

it's about getting in before you have to wait in lines for shite

Meh I have plenty of water, a generator and a freezer full of food.

Am I missing anything?

Unless this thing turns into a Cat 2 or higher it’ll be okay. It appears to moving so fast we may only get a few inches of rain and a little wind. Hopefully it’s nothing worse than that.

shite, we are going to the camp for a tournament that was postponed from Cindy. Should be interesting.

I'm going to take the boat and jetski off the lifts and bring them back to Covington. Will probably just take everything from the storage shed and move it upstairs at the camp.

If/when the NHC makes big shifts, its usually when a storm is as disorganized as this one. Getting your bearings straight on what is nothing more than a few thunderstorms at this time is very difficult.
good point.

Hopefully the storm never really materializes.
Well its already materialized. But I know what you mean - It could very well dissipate as it is coming ashore as the GFS is kind of indicating.

If you got your supplies already, wouldn't be too worried about it. It would be a good idea for those who don't to stock up as a just in case.

My message is for folks reading to beat the rush.

Ten4. Let’s just hope this is a non event. We don’t need any type of serious weather around here.

You are more screwed by the fact that you got talked into getting married during a football game than you are screwed by any hurricane. You are in for a lifetime of being run over by your wife, a hurricane just lasts a couple days

Looks like God is trying to tell this poor soul something by sending Nate.

Has anyone made a "Half-Baked" Nasty Nate reference yet? Because I'm sure this is how many of us are feeling about Nate right now.

Got a boat at Salty's on a floating dock. Guess I'm gonna have to head down there to clear out my dock box and make sure she's tied down tight and the floating dock holds. Ugh.
