You have to be a lunatic to wishcast a storm to NOLA if you live here.

Tornado warnings for water spouts popping all around us in Gulf Shores

It's always the same black guy at the door at mae's every time i go. He's super nice. The bartenders could use some personality

Clouds are looking hurricane-ish now

Yeah imagine if this thing was moving slower at a normal speed. The surge would be even bigger for just a strong Cat 1. The part of the gulf where LA, MS, and AL are is the most surge vulnerable part of the entire US.

I am going to aknowledge your comment so you will stop stating the obvious, same post half a dozen times says you are searching for some sort of validation, hope this was enough.

That's not really how it works. Wishcasting isn't to be taken literally, but people have a tendency to think it's heading for them, and they'll find things that confirm that bias.
They see Irma heading essentially due west, so they ignore the NHC and say it's going to go into the GOM and then find a way to turn into Biloxi, New Orleans, Lake Charles, etc.
They see Nate barreling NNW, and they just know that he's going to miss the turn to the NNE as the NHC forecasted.

Dem baws in Pilottown said this ain't shite

I have to give Mitch credit for guiding us through this mist and drizzle. It could have been catastrophic if he didn't shut the city down. You baws should show some respect.

If it wasn't for that curfew NOLA would be underwater right now. God bless that man.

This. I was shocked by the number of people who have lived in Louisiana for decades saying "look it's headed right into the Gulf! Anybody who thinks its hitting Florida is an idiot!!!" When every model was saying it would make a turn.

Sorry I disagree. Too many disaster junkies and people who want to be in the storm.

Is it fair to say this has been a bust for the NOLA metro?
