Look how much easier it is for people to access every bed in the Astrodome.

Still very heavy rain in disney. And starting to get some decent wind gust speeds.
My room overlooks stormalong bay at the Yacht Club and a wind band came through recently that was probably 40+ mph. I'm not sure how much the windmill in the pool can take after watching how bad that wind affected it.
Local weather stations reporting highest wind speeds here at 4 am, and it'll be around 80 sustained. I'll try to get some video of that when it comes through.
My room faces northeast so nothing blowing in at my room at the moment.

It was never ever considered to be a shelter.
Fair enough. I'm not local, so only going off what I read.
I knew it was for first responders and linemen, so I may have incorrectly used the word "shelter" as well.

My power went out about 90 mins ago. How long can I go without power before I need to worry about my food in the refrigerator/Freezer If I don’t open the doors? I don’t want to get the portable generator out till I need to. Winds are still rocking.
TIA.
TIA.

It wasn’t considered to be a shelter during the storm, but it was set up for first responders after it passed.

Fox News just interviewed a couple from Bradenton who had to evacuate and they're on TV because their wedding is "a few weeks away."
Meanwhile my friend was supposed to get married Friday afternoon in Orlando and canceled yesterday because of the storm.
frick this.
Ok? Are you suggesting they should find your friend because his wedding was closer?

It won’t be 80 mph sustained in Orlando area, so hopefully that helps you sleep at night.

It was set up for first responders for before the storm to support national guard clearing debris and it was used for this purpose.

The fabric roof has ripped off of Tropicana Field. Video on Tampa ABC shows it shredded.
I saw the pics from
A day or so ago where they were housing power crews and other responders at Tropicana. I thought at the time this doesn’t look like a good idea.

Everything Disney builds has to be up to Epcot Building Codes (it was the building code for their special district when they had it). Typically everything has to be built to withstand +100 mph wind. Doesn’t mean it will, but wouldn’t be surprised if it stands the test.
