Guess nobody learned from the hell that was sheltering in the Superdome for Katrina debacle and the hell on Earth for days after...

Fox News just interviewed a couple from Bradenton who had to evacuate and they're on TV because their wedding is "a few weeks away."
Meanwhile my friend was supposed to get married Friday afternoon in Orlando and canceled yesterday because of the storm.
frick this.

Looks like in the end they decided it wasn't a good idea to use as a shelter.
Fantastic call, in hindsight.

Any surge reports between Tampa and fort Myers
Looks like about 5 feet in Nokomis at the gauge, but the gauge is located inland a bit.

That’s where linemen were staged for post storm restoration I think.

I don’t disagree, but what does this have to do with your first post?

Yeah this doesn't look like any shelter bed set up I've ever seen. That looks more like a place to pack a bunch of linemen in.
Compare the bed set up to the Astrodome after Katrina

TWC has been like that for storms since before anyone gave a shite about climate change. Hyping the weather has been their thing forever. I’m not saying they’re unbiased or anything, but their hysteria doesn’t prove anything IMO
The weather channel hypes weather like a sports station hypes sports.

I may have misunderstood but I didn’t that earlier today — I think in here somewhere.
Hope all are safe.

It was never ever considered to be a shelter.
