Dang, GFS was showing a weak storm last night and now it’s showing a 950ish landfall.

Hard to believe it can get to 950 with that upper level wind situation in Gulf but idk
Maybe the 50-60 kt winds out of west can help a storm thats moving east

That thing is going to sit and spin over the Gulf, blow up into a Cat 6 and then cover the entire country. HAARP is playing for keeps.

Soon insurance companies are just gonna stop offering insurance to anyone along the gulf coast.
Would you want to be responsible for possibly repairing or replacing someone's 400k house on the coast for 5k a year?
I'd be shitting my britchez

$5k a year?
Maybe 10 years ago.

Fyi, this is my official prediction and warning. Prepare for it, but If it doesn't come to fruition, then be grateful you were spared.

The hurricane models right now are silly
HWRF spins it into a Cat 4 before it even leaves the BoC

Just over 24hrs ago, the NHC had lowered this all the way to 30%

I have zero faith in the NHC after this more than one day out. They had beryl hitting Mexico and <30% chance of forming to 80% and cat 3 in less than 24 hours. No one knows

I'm not knocking the NHC; just pointing out that there is still a lot we don't know.

We need to name one of these Kamala. They both bring wreckage and destruction to our beautiful country.

Combination of things, the upper-level pattern has trended more favorably, with the trough in the NE a bit deeper and slower and a potentially stronger system earlier. The trough changes make the jet & tropical system interaction more favorable, and a stronger system is more resilient to shear.
