yeah that’s quite a crazy run. Shows a strong cat 3 direct hit on Tampa. Not good. Looks like it won’t be a cake walk for us in Orlando, potentially cat 1 winds here. But the way the gfs has been so flip floppy I’d bet the next run will show a weak surface low hitting key west.

New run sucks as well. Not great timing with the Orlando vacation starting today

Spent yesterday helping Parents out @ IRB...this would be pretty crappy thing to happen. I am inland by a few miles...still would be very bad.

Early returns on the hurricane models coming in now are basically confirming that the wild intensity predicted by the GFS (and the GFS alone) is not at all realistic. :edit: uggh I spoke too soon… the HAFa showing a sub 940 system approaching the FL west coast.

Soon insurance companies are just gonna stop offering insurance to anyone along the gulf coast.

Yeah really.

LA may dodge another one, but it’ll hit us in the pocketbook when it comes time for renewal again. A storm hitting the US does nothing good for the insurance crisis here.

Btw, this looks to be another behemoth headed towards FL.

I live 8 miles inland. But think about it, can you blame the insurance companies? How many big payouts can they give before the well goes dry?

Oh and Lenette Charles on TWC could get it.

Yep and when they do everyone else’s premiums will probably not decrease.
