We were out 30 miles Tuesday and got our asses kicked. BIG miss on the forecasts.

Because this is likely to be a nominal tropical system (as far as what we've had) it is a good idea to pay attention to NWS forecasts because central FL looks primed to have a significant rain event out of this mess, regardless of strength.
It is already being forecast.

Thank God that’s a fish storm
Will crank some ACE though so the “experts” won’t look so bad on their preseason predictions in the end

11E wouldn't survive the trek across Mexico, but the associated gap wind event could help focus vorticity. Gap wind event induced systems are pretty common in the EPAC. The 12z Euro and 18z GFS both eventually developed a system in the Gulf.

The Waze forecast is almost comically wrong right now. I have had the shite best out of me in 1-2 foot predictio days last 4 years than the rest of my life put together and I am old

Kirk is looking fabulous out in the open Atlantic.
rds explained earlier, this is something to watch but would be an unusual scenario for the Gulf. Terrain leads to a focus for some spin and that spin could develop.
But boy we're a long way from that. Notable GFS and Euro bit at some point.
