New GFS 18z has Maria skirting the Bahamas and Jose stalling out around jersey/Connecticut. Maria almost stalls in this picture then moves to skirt NC coast then out to sea.

Jose is currently stalled further south..if he doesn't break apart or move from there does this make Irma turn north/northeast sooner or force her further west/stall over Florida until Jose moves out?

Not a clean pass. Pressure may well tick up a mb or two until past the island.

Currently just horrified at what's happening down there.

Looking at initial reports...

Dominica's prime minister had to be rescued from his house after the roof was ripped off.

This is looking really bad for Dominica as evidenced by the Prime Minister of Dominica on facebook a few minutes ago.

Good lord almighty I thought she would split the islands not hit the most populated part. This is a fricking humanitarian nightmare.

Virgin islands didnt get brunt of Irma

I think the people of St. John (including my friend is now homeless and has been spending the night in a red cross shelter) might disagree with you. They spent plenty of time in that eye wall.

Curacao doesn't have TWC, it's weird watching One Carib Weather and a guy in a Hawaiian shirt saying "that's a lot of water."

Everyone here in PR is in a panic. 20-25% of San Juan proper are still without power from Irma. I went to BVI last week to drop off food and there are no windows left in any of the houses and most of the cars. If anything close to that strength hits here, lord help us.

Ehh, I'm pretty sure this is some very loose interpretation of data from the NWS. It certainly isn't OFF the table, but to suggest it is some kind of breaking news alert is pretty shitty from Fox8.

St. Maarten took a direct hit from Cat 5 Irma and look wha t happened.
I feel bad for any direct hits on these fragile islands
