The snow is happening on Mauna Kea... more than 13,000 ft above sea level

Its wild a hurricane is doing this. But they get snow every year. Just not 100+ mph snow

It snows annually on Hawaiian peaks, and thunderstorms often produce snow on the highest peaks even in summer.

I used to lived in Hawaii and almost froze to death camping on Haleakala. Another time I felt like I was going to freeze was when I got caught in a cold front on Oahu wearing a sarong.

Been there and seen that.
Still something I enjoyed seeing. My poor rental Jeep was not happy trying to operate at 12k+ elevation (circa 2006).

Hawaii has the highest average rainfall in the USA.
