I prefer the term, especially if they are coming to 30A, etc, of "Slednecks"

Never heard the term either, and when I lived in Scottsdale, everyone called the Canadians "snowbirds".

El Niño did its thing. Glad it wasn’t worse, but there were a ton of people hyping this up like it was gonna be Katrina part 2. Destin never even lost power from all the livestreams I watched.

10pm advisory keeps the center east of Tuscaloosa. Hopefully that spares the area the worst of the winds.

In the Panhandle?

They’ll get their asses shot around here doing that and the sheriff will tell you “nice work” afterwards.

I don’t think it was Issac for that one. It was during Ida in 2021 when a man in Slidell was eaten by a gator.

First official human death from being killed by a gator in LA…right after Ida. Freaking crazy.

It was so pretty and organized yesterday, but not so much any more. Just a regular rainstorm now.

Why are you so mad the storm did basically what everyone said? It strengthened to a 3, weakened at landfall, as predicted. But retards like you will bitch no matter what.

Thanks man. We are good. A portion of our side fence went down but thats about it. Across the street neighbor had a big oak tree fall on the front right corner of her house but I dont see any other significant damage in my immediate area. Amazing how these trees hold up in those winds.

From about 6:10-7:10 it was quite scary, not gonna lie. 100 mph gusts. Sounded like a freight train. And there were some spicy gusts before that and currently but we are good. Power has been out since about 6 but we are prepared for a few days.

I appreciate all of the incredible info and reporting in this thread, as well as the advice. This thread is basically all ive been using for updates and analysis of this hurricane. You guys really are the best.

I’m fighting them off on Twitter too. Nobody wants to admit the shear fizzled it out more than they thought it would.

I’ve seen some really terrifying images of a flooded parking lot outside of a strip mall. Sorry to anybody that lost a Bradford pear tonight.
