Does anyone know anything about storm surge in St. Pete? I live about 100 yards from the bay. Is it somewhat protected from severe storm surge? I don't really know how storm surge works.
I posted this previously, but this is where I live. I'm on the 1st floor too. Zone A is mandatory evacuation.

The Euro seems odd as it has Cat 2 winds hitting Atlanta.

Euro has Jose potentially looping back and may hit the Bahamas.

Is that path not significantly farther west than most?

Yeah I wouldnt want to be 100 yards from any large body of water during a major hurricane.

I would get out. You are too close to comfort.

I'm no expert, but I would grab anything that's important to me and get the frick outta there. 1st floor, 100 yds from the bay, Possible CAT 5 hurricane with a 20ft storm surge........HELL NO
Edit: For some reason I thought you were in Fort Lauderdale. Either way, I'd still get out of there. Storm will probably still be a CAT 3 when it gets up that way.

Hurricane season needs to end with a quickness.

Jeez man if that 5am update is right atlanta is going to get tropical storm winds and really bad weather in general.
I think the last hurricane/tropical storm to hit Atlanta was Opal in 1995. I was only 8 years old but i remember all the trees down.
