How long before SFLA knows where this thing "may"/"will" make landfall? I am in SWFL and have been watching this gal move slightly west all day. She seems to wobble back and forth, and we are riding it out in Naples/Fort Myers.
Will she decrease in strength? What kind of winds are we looking at, 115 miles NW of Miami?
I don't think I have ever tracked a storm for this long. Felt like Harvey came outta nowhere. Any insight is appreciated for those of us not making the 5 hour trek up I-75 to the border, with no gas stations with any gas, etc.

I'll come in with the (in)famous 1995 Hurricane Season.
Iris and Humberto actually did the Fujiwahra effect. My dad was at Guantanamo in Cuba when Marilyn hit.

I guess you missed the part where I said this is the sheltered side of the island.

What do you want me to say? It looks like a nuclear bomb went off, because it doesn't.

My uncle and cousin were planning on leaving their homes in Cape Coral (near Ft. Myers), but my cousin can't leave work (works at the VA) , plus they state the interstates are gridlocked.
For now they are staying.

Go down there and tell the people that live there (who are my friends) that it doesn't look too bad. Do that right after you GFY.

Calm down Nancy. They are on an island that just got hit with a Cat 5 Hurricane, and they're still alive and the damage doesn't look too bad according to the pics you posted. That's all I meant.
You posted the pics looking for some sort of attention or reaction and you lash out at me because it's not the attention or reaction you wanted. I'm sorry bro, I take it back.

Sorry if I took your intent wrong. This is an emotional day for me. I have a lot of attachment to the people and places down there.
After all, this is the OT.

Looking at Google Maps traffic, from Miami to Lake City looks like very slow moving. That normally is about a 5+ hour drive. Says it is taking about 6 hours now.
Doesn't seem so bad, if that is accurate.

Any reports from Punta Cana?

I'm starting to wonder if these pressure predictions of sub-900 will be accurate. It continues to get stronger and stronger.
