If it's just West if the peninsula, it's really not a miss. As far as the effects of the storm, it's a hit. And good to know you are calling it. Just in time to include in the next model runs.

Interesting that there were only hurricane force winds for about thirty minutes. Hurricane force windfield must not extend out very far on the west side of the storm. They are about to restart up with a vengeance though...

Is it possible that some of these islands could just be reclaimed by the ocean? Some of them don't look like more than sandbars.
