In this modern age we've seen hurricanes do a complete 180, get back in the water for a red bull, and head back inland to tear shite up again. Why is anything about hurricanes surprising?

Naples/Marco Island is my favorite place along the Gulf Coast...that place will be destroyed.

Marco Island
Was there for a conference a few years back and a group of us who had all gotten our degrees from LSU rented a house. The old folks there called the police on us at 7 pm for making too much noise. We were just sitting out by the screened in pool and talking. The police were rather apologetic about even having to talk to us.

Yep. Euro and GFS leave high blood pressure for the GOM States.

Just left Sam's here in Mobile and they are already out of water and gatorade and can goods were going quick. Also some guy came in while I was there and bought every generator they had. Hearing reports of similar shortages at other stores around the area.

I felt this detail was irrelevant to the story.

Why do they seem so certain it will make a major shift northward after making initial landfall in FL? The projected path can't be that certain yet.

Solid kite flying weather.

Isn't the shift going to be attributed to a low pressure front rolling down?
ETA I know shite about weather.
