We are headed to Destin Thursday to Monday. Will this thing won’t be in the gulf at that time?

The Atlantic is pretty much dead outside of a couple of struggling waves. However, conditions should become more conducive for development over the next two weeks.

Notice the bright blue area in the EPAC, they didn't circle it but it will play a role in modulating Gulf activity. The EPAC is going to churn out 2-3 systems over the next 7-10 days and that usually keeps things in check over the Gulf.
Hopefully, this favorable period will pass with just a couple of MDR systems curving harmlessly out to sea.

12z Euro with a weak system into Texas

Any chance that could affect the LSU opener?

Bring it, we're burning up over here, I can't remember the last time I saw rain falling.

Waves in Gulf Shores this weekend

I’ve gotten 4.5 inches of rain since June 1st and no single event in that time span was more than 0.6 inches.
I’ve gotten only 1.5 inches in the last month.
Walking in my yard is like walking on stale corn chips.
I’d be delighted for a weak tropical system off the Gulf to slow roll across here for a few days.

So a system, moving slow through the gulf, is supposed to hit the 6th around Galveston?

Got the same here and I live 30 miles north of BR. Dam Mississippi River has a very big curve that swings from the north and then back around to the south that cuts rain off every time it comes from the south.

Are you saying that rain won’t cross a river?

One can watch the radar and as a Tstorm starts crossing the river, the Tstorms break down to nothing.

What does Peej say? Is this thing going to devastate Punta Cana before crossing Central America into the Pacific and striking Tokyo?

This is a fact. The MS River will eat a thunderstorm in a hurry. Not every time, but more often than not.
