Also, and this is not the time for a discussion, but the path seems rather suspicious to me, especially if it turns south to go along the coast.

Not even halfway over yet. That's the mind-boggling part.

Imagine 40 inches of rain.

Now add an inch and a half to it

That is nuts. For reference, Atlantic Beach averages 58 inches of rain a year.

He started getting comments and questions by the dozen, wondering how the flag was doing. “A group of kids watching took to calling the flag ‘Kevin,’” Neal told McClatchy. “They wanted to know how Kevin is doing, if Kevin is going to make it.

quote:

that flag represents who we are as America. We get beat up, battered during hard times, but we stay up, stay at it through the storm.”

quote:

Flag and Banner has donated a replacement U.S. flag to Neal and Frying Pan Tower. The Frying Pan Tower live cam feed was showing “highlights” on Friday instead of live footage, so the flag in the feed appears to be a new one, but Neal says the one he got from Flag and Banner has not been raised yet. “With respect, we will retire and replace it next trip,” Neal wrote in a Facebook post.

quote:

He plans to donate the tattered flag that made it through the storm to Cystic Fibrosis Wilmington or the American Red Cross of Wilmington for a fundraiser, after all the attention it got through Hurricane Florence. It will be sold at auction, as proof through the night that our flag was still there.

I believe that was in New Bern I could be wrong.

But it would make sense. There were 3 individuals in need total when I reported that.

2 of 3 confirmed deaths are a mother and child (think they said infant) per FOX & Shep Smith. DIdn't say if it was in the house that someone was requiring an amputation.

Said that the father is in the hospital. I'm hoping that they COULDN'T evacuate as opposed to CHOSE not to evacuate -- either way sucks of course but I'm hoping they didn't choose to stay and put that child in harms way.
