reported a sustained wind of 71 mph (114 km/h) and a gust to 87 mph
(140 km/h). A Weatherflow station at Fort Macon, North Carolina,
recently reported a sustained wind of 61 mph (98 km/h) and a wind
gust of 79 mph (127 km/h).

Water levels continue to rise quickly on the western side of
Pamlico Sound. A USGS gauge at New Bern, North Carolina, on the
Neuse River is recording 9.6 feet of inundation.

A NOAA buoy at Onslow Bay recently reported a minimum pressure of
960 mb (28.35 mb).

I don't know, they had some variation of night vision going earlier, it was already 9 or so at night, with the storm overhead, and still had visibility.

I understand there has to be enough light for that to even work, I don't know how there would be that much difference between then and now though

Ive thought that all night. They are rookies out there and getting cocky because TWC is using their feed and pictures.

They will push the limits.

lol. They're basically on the beach now bc ppl were taunting them to keep going. They're gonna get flooded in and stuck, I'd bet money on it.
