Florence became a wet a-hole. Give us some wind and get out of here

Flag looks stout, but that pole may not last.

They'll be spared from extreme winds that are actually the least damaging/life threatening parts of a hurricane. Don't get me wrong, weaker winds are better than stronger ones, but the Carolinas are not going to be spared from widespread effects. Flooding and surge will still be a major issue.

I think that’s whats going to catch people off guard. It can be a Cat -10 or a Cat 100. That has nothing to do with the amount of rain and flooding they are going to expierence.

People think, oh it’s only a Cat 2 and will only be a Cat 1 at landfall and they don’t realize they are going to see 4 days of unrelenting rainfall and the flooding that comes with it.

I looked this place up once when it became a B&B. I'd never have the courage to spend a night on that thing.

Looks like the Carolinas will be spared. Only a Cat 2 and they said it could be a Cat 1 by landfall. Thats a huge downgrade.

It’s still carrying Cat 4 surge. And winds are only 5mph from Cat 3 strength. They won’t be spared though it’s not as bad as 140 mph winds

Any coastal webcam links to float out here? That pic makes it look like it’s about to get interesting

It has time today but not much. Pretty much going to stay around 105-115 mph winds until it interacts with land

6z NAM rainfall totals through 60 hours. Keep in mind the storm will still be around Florence, SC at after 60 hours, so the totals will grow.
