As I told a poster in the other thread, if I were in Charleston, I would get out.

They’re about 3/4 mile north of Carolina Beach. They’re leaving this afternoon after moving stuff upstairs in their townhome, and taking the irreplaceable stuff from there and their storage unit.

FYI- for anyone in a mandatory evac area, most homeowner's insurances cover up to 2 weeks of cost. SAVE ALL RECEIPTS

Looks to be a lot ways out of town. I'll be curious to see if the traffic out picks up this evening.

Looks like a 4 mile backup on 95s at the I20 interchange in Florence. NC crowd must be hitting the roads

Charleston was under a mandatory evac.

It still is and the city is shutting all operations down after today. They will only provide property protection and crime prevention after today. They want people off the peninsula for sure even though the entire county is mandatory as well.

I'm guessing this doesn't extend to renters insurance?

Maybe they left already??

Pretty sure most who are leaving have left. UNC-W has been closed all week, so those folks should be gone. My company is headquartered there (one of the largest employers in the city)... Told everyone yesterday not to come back to the office until they get the all clear.

Not looking good for them, but if the stall happens sooner rather than later where they don't get the eyewall and surge, it would be much better.

There are people walking down the boardwalk and playing in the water on the Myrtle Beach webcam.

Tourists that think they're safe in their 30+ floor hotel. Most likely

We’re holding down in Wagener Terrace for the time being. This side of the peninsula is fairly lively right now, all things considered.

Possibly heading to Jacksonville tomorrow.
