My windows are indented with brick surrounding so it looks like i will have to cut plywood to fit in the holes rather than board up the outsides thanks to the shutters and textured decorations on top of th ebrick that wont let the board lay flat.
They make plywood clips that will help you pop the boards into place on your brick. Just an FYI.

I’ve paid almost no attention to this storm. Isnt there still a decent chance that it’s stay in the Atlantic and just fade away at sea?

Unfortunately, the odds decline each time a new model comes up.

I just searched amazon for generator and sorted using prime. You have options to have one delivered Wed. Link to one.
Amazon
I bought a generator on Amazon back when they had 4.99 overnight shipping. Generator was delivered in less than 24 hours. Fed Ex chick said I would have to help her get it out of the truck

According to this my home is inland a bit but the area of map is white with green surrounding on the neighboring streets. Hoping that means elevation.
If you're looking at a Category 4 simulation and you're not in any of the bright colored areas - red, orange, yellow, or blue - surge shouldn't be an issue for you.

oddly... I hated the everyday news stuff (why I'm no longer in it)
but breaking news stuff like storm coverage was where I felt I was doing good work

Don’t forget Walmart also offers 2 dat shipping. Target does on some items. Home Depot also offers express shipping in some areas.

I can't remember if it was Isaac, but I remember watching Pat Shingleton's son reporting on a storm on the interstate between BR and NOLA and just getting battered by the winds.

honestly... it's been too long and I've tried to blot out my WBRZ existence out of my head... that's how much I disliked it
but if a major storm threatens the LA coast (Lord forbid) I may be able to help any of you baws who may evacuate towards CenLA

I couldn't get walmart.com to say anything sooner than Monday the 17th. they all say free shipping and even at checkout doesn't give me the option to upgrade to 2 day or overnight. Everyone I talked to via phone seemed like an idiot. I'm going to Lowe's and home depot at 6am to talk to them and see if we can make something happen. Someone on my neighborhood FB page said the lowes got a big shipment Sunday but when I called Sunday morning they said they were out.

Care to share why it was so bad?

Did you select the pick up in store in the filter? If it’s not there, it will usually show when it can get there.

Just hit the road in the morning, man. If you plan on hunkering down drive a few hours out the way to stock up on everything you need

Also, try Sears online. When I have trouble finding some things that are sold out, Sears is my secret weapon because no one shops there

Yep yep. both days were the same. I have ordered things online that they have in stock and had them ship me one from a warehouse in texas and refuse to let me pick up one they already have. It's a mess.

let's just call it a difference of opinion on how my immediate superior and I wanted things done... obviously I lost out and he wanted to make sure I knew it
it's for the better though... I always wanted to be in sports broadcasting anyway and working on the news side was just draining the life out of me
I'm in college athletics now and I'm a million times happier
