Left to get the 13 year old boys who invaded my home some ice cream. It’s a sizable order. I’ll link when I get back.

How close are you to the coast?
A few miles inland just west of I-95. Water is not a concern or we would have been out of here. Been in this house since Frances- Jeanne in 04 then Wilma in 05 and we’ve never had any issues with the structure.
But this fricking storm is something different. I’m just ready for it to turn north. We have been in the cross hairs for a week or so I think.

SC Governor jumped the gun. Kemp has a press conference in Savannah tomorrow at 1030 he'll probably evac east of 95 just so if something happens he doesn't get blamed for waiting.

I feel sorry for anybody traveling to Charleston for business this week since the interstates will all be reversed. Forced to use the backroads to get down there.
Hopefully my drive to work in downtown Charleston on Tuesday will be easier than ever.

I noticed the Weather Channel dude was very nervous explaining the forecast turn to the north. I saw fear in his eyes.

It could just be another wobble but looks like a SW turn headed straight to Miami now

Ya I think you will see the trajectory slowly move more and more to the west. They just won’t do it all at once so they don’t look like idiots.

It’s interaction with land and it’s gonna wobble one way or the other. Rds said any wobble south would just cause short term effects to Freeport.

Its going west right along the spine of Grand Bahama

Not that it's going to matter, but Freeport is so close to getting constant eyewall for hours on end or a direct hit with a break during the eye.
Think about it stalling with eyewall on top of you.

It ran NW for a bit this morning as it hit an island. This movement is likely it taking the south path (unfortunately) along Grand Bahama. It's just a wobble as it interacts with the land, at least that's the most likey explaination for me.

The South Carolina governor is a fricking moron.

So where do you ride out the back half of the storm when your shelter is practically already gone

Its going to be fine... just making it a wide turn before shooting North.
More than likely a wobble though.

This close I would expect the projections to be not far off. Y’all need to calm down. I bet we wake up tomorrow with a north turn.
Posted on 9/1/19 at 8:26 pm to birchbayduck
It should turn North it’s just when. If I was on the east coast of Florida I would really nervous... I hope they didn’t relax any. To close to call in my opinion..
