SageSure is who I went through for a roof last year. First they tried to deny damage, asked to send a new person out. They approved right after that. Think that’s just their way of trying to get some homeowners to go ahead and buy themselves, I get it. Roof replaced for 1% deductible. I would rate them easy to deal with after that experience.

There is a zero chance you have a $1000 hurricane deductible in the state of LA.
Since there is 0 chance, do I get good odds on a wager?
I'll take any odds BTW.

Safeco here. 1% deductible. I have replacement coverage. I had about 25 shingles blown off a 17 year old roof and they paid for a new roof with no hassle at all.

I don’t understand in the insurance realm why people choose a deductible that they don’t then save and hold in some readily available account.

Insurance industry in LA lost its arse BAD after Katrina. So they got the lobby together and sucked off enough legislators to pass the bullshite deductible structure and limits so the game would be fixed in their favor going forward. Deductibles can be flat or %age of appraised value. It is up to homeowner to shop market for favorable or preferred package whether high deductible low premium, low deductible high premium, or something in the middle. There is namestorm deductible and "AOP" (all other perils) deductible and the amounts can be manipulated to the preferences of the homeowner.
Anyone in here insisting that there is no namestorm flat rate deductible or no 1% deductible does not know what they are talking about and should stop spreading disinformation.

State Farn
How they continue to have the numbers of customers is beyond me.
This. Plus, they treat their insureds like poo poo. Move on. Better rates with more courteous reps out there.

Catastrophic adjusters are generally third party and have little to do with carrier. Vast majority are inexperienced. We always recommend getting a licensed contractor to write up an estimate as well.

I have UPC and my deductible is $1000.

It is if my deductible was a percentage of home vs flat $1000.

No it doesn’t bud. Replacement cost has nothing to do with a750k appraised value. That shows you don’t know how insurance works.

SageSure here too. Mine is 2% as well, and it’s labeled clear as day in the dec page I get every year. They even math it out for you

Never mind that it’s not their fault they agreed to that contract with that deductible

No, it’s estimated replacement cost. Big difference.
