Didn’t he live in a big city? If he had the money then it wouldn’t be that hard. I’m surprised his heart didn’t explode though

No, he lived in a really small town in Colorado.

This guy is no Hero. He was an a-hole who. Beat his wife and ultimately blew his brains out. He projected a sense of invincibility in his writing to hide his insecurity and fear.

That's a lot of cocaine to not get anything done all day

Then he must have had the money. And a good reliable dealer who’s job was basically to make sure Hunter always had a supply. Didn’t he have a suitcase full in Fear and Loathing?

Never thought of coke as a drug of productivity. You have a false sense of reality and can't truly stay focus.

Amphetamines and Methamphetamine (at the right dose) are much better for productivity. Opiods are even better than coke IMO based on the elevated mood.

Asking for a friend.

When you're wealthy, it's easy. Charlie Sheen was a great example, remember the breifcase of coke.

All you have to do is gain access to a mid-level street guy and pay the price per kg he could get on the street by selling by the oz.
You're golden. FAR fewer transactions and risk for Mr Dealer Dude and your supply just got much more solider.
You basically buy it wholesale for rolled up street price.
They love Rich party people who pay premiums.

Same thing happens in every town when a Dr/Engineer/lawyer/business man wants his monthly supply of adderall or pain pills.

Street price is $5-7, but Mr Professional thinks nothing about throwing down $400 on 40 pills just to keep his wife/doctor/peers from knowing he likes to party with adderall and pain pills.

+1

Really admired this guy when I first read him in my early 20's, thought it was cool we shared the same birth date, but the more I learned about him, the less I respected the man.

he lived near aspen. there is plenty of coke in aspen.

I really doubt he lived daily like that. Maybe the cocaine/alcohol but not the LSD.

Its one thing to party hard a lot and start early in your day often, but bragging about having a drink when you first wake up is just sad. An upper or wake n bake is fine, but doing that many drugs in your first couple hours is even sadder.

That routine is so full of BS its pathetic.
