Hunger Pains? or Hunger Pangs?

OT settle this.
I literally never hear the term hunger "Pangs" until recently and now it's like the world decided to replace the work "Pains" with "Pangs" I hear it all the time on radio and tv.
What the hell gives?

Or...you've been hearing wrong all your life and now you've seen the correct term so it sticks in your craw.
Similar to "bite your Time" (bide) or "waiting with baited breath" (bated.)

Pangs is the historically and grammatically correct term.

But first my hunger pangs are stickin' like duct tape. Let's hit up Magnolia and mack on some cupcakes. No doubt that bakery's got all the bomb frostings. I love those cupcakes like McAdams loves Gosling.

For all intensive purposes, fr33manator is the board expert on language. I'm glad we could nip that in the butt.

As someone who has read different versions of the Bible which often talks about labor "pains" or birth "pangs", it doesn't really matter how it is stated. It is essentially saying the same thing and has very similar meaning. For me, it doesn't matter. Hunger pangs seems to have been used more typically, but it still implies the same thing.

OP probably says mind bottling instead of mind boggling
