A young man is dead a police officer going to jail, families ruined forever, because a young idiot cannot follow directions.

When pulled over b a police officer pit your hands on the steering wheel and follow directions. How hard can this be??

I'm assuming he's speaking of the Daunte Wright case.

I assume this is about Kim Potter being found guilty.

Absolutely sickening.

And if the chick police officer knew her right from her left, the perp would have gotten the jolt of his life but otherwise we would not have this thread.

Conflict resolution is a life skill that primitives don’t learn. Emotional intelligence is not a given. This is the kind of thing Dad teaches. Did whoever you are talking about have a Dad in the home?

I don't see what good finding her guilty here does. I fully believe it was a mistake, but he created the circumstances and either type of shooting would have been justified.

If she had actually intended to shoot him it would be a justified shooting, because her partner felt his life was most definitely in danger.

She's served 26 years and made one mistake.

NateTheLawyer's take

She should be dismissed and the family should get paid, but criminalizing mistakes is a terrible standard to set. Especially such a split decision in which her partner was actually in danger. This seems like they wanted guilty just to avoid backlash.

If you don't like this one, then don't look up the Robert Olsen case in Dekalb County (ATL) GA.

tldr-

Multiple 911 calls come in from apartment complex, in the hood, of a crazed maniac terrorizing the place. When people in the hood are calling the cops to come, it's pretty bad. This wasn't a Karen-Call.

Officer Olsen (57 and white) is the first to respond. As he exits his vehicle, a 20-something black naked linebacker begins to charge him. Olsen drew his weapon and shouted STop multiple times (this is all on body cam). The suspect does not stop. Olsen fired two rounds. Calls in the incident. Medics get there and pronounce him deceased.

This is where it gets sticky- interview with ambulance, Olsen said he was attacked. In reality, he wasn't actually attacked, he was about to be attacked. This is what the prosecutor harped on. You are apparently supposed to get attacked first, then use lethal force, according to the prosecution. And then they say the police rulebook says to use non-lethal options first, but Olsen (57) went straight to the gun as this naked crazed linebacker was charging him. So those charges get thrown in.

In the end, the all black local jury convicted this white police officer in their community who responded to multiple 911 calls from their community to him for his help for defending himself against the maniac he was called in, by them, to apprehend/arrest. Black activist judge sentenced to over 20 years with at least 12 to serve.

Merry Christmas, where's the tylenol

Did that taser woman cop case end or something?

The fact no one here cared about it and we didn’t discuss the trial is because that bitch was guilty as sin. She’s an idiot and another example that women shouldn’t have certain jobs.

I agree with the verdict but I also believe she did the world a favor by prematurely sending a piece of human trash to Hell. The world is a safer place without him in it.

Well that’s Bc you are a normal rational person. There was no fricking way a jury in Minneapolis is not going to find any cop guilty of any charge.

This was negligence. Similarly to the truck driver in Colorado serving a life sentence for killing people when his brakes went out and he fricked up due to inexperience or fear. This cop clearly had no intention of killing the a-hole. But the mob must be appeased at all costs.

The cop and the truck driver both deserve prison time.

Does the truck driver deserve 110 years? No... but it's the "blue lives matter!" folks that support minimum sentences so...
