I was a Cub Scout in the 3rd grade and it was kinda cool because the den mom was kinda hot. Never had any interest in the Boy Scouts.

The organization (as we have experienced) is exemplary. It is one where kids are encouraged to develop into fantastic citizens and leaders.

I'll take a scout any day over a cool "non-gay" kid.


I am not trivializing the abuses and its a terrible thing for the victims.

On the topic, we have strict rules in place that are geared to protect the youth (as well as adult leadership should false allegations happen). Part of it is annual YPT training and adherence to protocol.

have you been trained indepth on wilderness survival or emergency preparedness?

Same here. Cub Scouts were cool in elementary school

Boy Scouts just seemed silly once I grew up.

Yeah, because soo many scouts do all these things.

Here is the truth about pedophile predators, they are generally good at acting like they care about your family and kids in general and they seek out organizations and positions of leadership that allow them relatively unfettered access to children.

It would be more surprising if an organization that was directed toward children didn't have at least a few of these sickos over a century or so of operation. Particularly back when this was considered unfathomable.

FTR, never a boy scout nor were my sons.

My neighbors were 3 young boys, all boy scouts. You wouldn't believe some of the shite they would tell me about their boy scout camping trips. It was gay as shite. And I don't mean corny gay. I mean real gay. I knew 2 other neighbors, and they had super gay stories to tell as well.

Mostly a lot of group beating offs, but some way worse.
