Why is everything “Human Trafficking!!!” these days? This dude was getting blowjobs in exchange for getting chicks out of their bond debt. So what? Been going on for thousands of years. How is this trafficking? Does this really require the FBI? To get this straight, if you accept a blowjob in exchange for something of value you are now a “Human Trafficker”?

And what is up with seizing all of his guns and putting it in the press release? No indication he used a gun in a crime.

quote:

A father and son working as bail bondsmen in Covington and Amite were arrested Friday in a human trafficking investigation led by Louisiana State Police and the FBI.

James E. Johnson Jr., 53, of Bush, is accused of soliciting sexual favors from multiple victims in exchange for bond debt relief. He was arrested Friday morning without incident at his office in Covington and was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail on two counts of human trafficking, two counts of first-degree rape and a count of sexual battery.

Detectives also seized 27 firearms from Johnson's residence and business offices, according to a State Police news release.

Couple things:

First, if they charged him with first degree rape there has to be more to it than just what’s in the article

Second,

quote:

Johnson's son and business partner, Patrick Johnson, 31, was also arrested after detectives discovered pornography involving juveniles during a search of the pair's office in Amite.

You really want to defend these guys?

What his adult son had on his computer discovered AFTER they began searching has about as much to do with this as does the guns they seized. Unless you are in favor of random police searches in general. The post is pretty clearly discussing the whole buzzword use of “human trafficking” but let’s focus on his scum bag son and call it all good.

Aren't you a LEO?

Regardless, human Trafficking covers the "commercial sexual exploitation" of others. This seems to fit here.

You must’ve missed the first part of my post.

If he was charged with first degree rape there had to be more to it than just BJs for debt forgiveness.

The crime is committed by the FBI and prosecutors.

They inflate charges so they can be reduced later, after their victims spend a few hundred-thousand over the next 3-4 years fighting it.

This will guarantee the feds keep their +94% conviction rate for sex crimes and the guys do 3-6 years in Oakdale after facing 30.

OP is right. This “sex trafficing” is today’s Refer Madness boogeyman.

And bc many people don’t think consenting adults should go to jail for the prostitution. So boom! Human trafficking.

It was a search for an offense BY THE FATHER regarding sexual favors in exchange for bond debt forgiveness. Why were they in the sons computer? If your secretary gets caught embezzling from the company, do you expect the police to search your laptop? How about your bosses or the janitors?

As far as the sexual favors “for something of value” the statute also includes “forced labor”. Not to be hyperbolic but I can see that being problematic. If your adult son lives at home and plays video games all day, what happens when you tell him to mow the lawn for his room and board or get the frick out of your house? The statute mentions forced labor under threat or coercion and that would seem to foot the bill.

They started using it heavily in vice stings in the shreveport Bossier area a few years ago, consenting adults engaging in a private transaction were arrested in “human trafficking” operations. It’s a buzzword charge to generate attention and they get federal grants to fight “human trafficking”

The perfect example is the Asian massage parlour that Robert Kraft was getting happy endings for lunch.

They labeled that shite human trafficking.

I was going to make an educated post in here but it’s obvious that you have no idea what you’re talking about bc none of what you posted above is correct. It’s clear you’re just here to bitch about hearing “human trafficking” as a buzzword.
