Celebrity deaths don’t normally hit me. Norm Macdonald a few years ago and Hulk definitely have. I am getting older. Time is fleeting. It sucks.
It honestly doesn’t seem all that long ago you and I were just kids, BilJ.

Someone put Michael Jordan in protective custody though, don’t think I can handle losing my two biggest childhood icons

He’s on disability
I'm not surprised that he rides the "short bus".

I too was getting my Hulk on with the Hulkamania work out set. I had the rubber action figures too. I used to like chewing on their feet.

If you weren't watching, during this time, you'll just never know how cool this was.

News flash: most wrestlers, especially from that era, weren’t great people
Fact: WWE isn’t WWE today without Hulk Hogan. Lot of attitude and bullshite going around today from people that think they are “in the know”. But Flair, Sting, Dwayne Johnson, even Vince gushing about the man.
Yesterday was a little rough. Not from some celebrity worship or anything. First time I saw Hulk live was in Kindergarten with my dad and grandfather at the Beaumont Civic Center. I stayed up way too late that night for my age. Apparently I got in trouble at school the next day during nap time because the kid next to me wouldn’t be quiet so I grabbed the back of his head and slammed it on the mat. I may or may not have picked that up the previous night.
My grandfather was a wrestling freak, back to the old Mid South days. When he was younger working the docks in Lake Charles he’d go to local stuff. Loved WWF and WCW. He’d record them so he could watch one broadcast live and the other on tape.
Every single time I went to visit, we’d go sit in the den and watch wrestling reruns, even when I got older and into college. When Hogan turned heel in WCW, he got so upset. We’d talk for hours about that, even after he got back in the red and yellow. “That damn Hogans gonna turn heel again.”
He’s been gone for almost 15 years, and every time I catch a wrestling clip I miss those conversations so much. Not sure why, but when I heard Hulk was gone those memories flooded back to me.

The Hogan/Rodman team-up was monumental. Dennis was appearing on WCW Nitro on off days for the fricking NBA Finals!!

Who gives a shite ? You and all of the other wrestlers who cry about it would do the same if its the difference between being a set for life superstar millionaire or having to hit the convention circuit as a d list celebrity for a couple of bucks.

Growing up in the 80's as a little kid, Hulk was larger than life. I was almost 5 when Hulk Hogans Rock n wrestling started broadcasting. You know i was watching that shite. Im 44 now and still a hulkamaniac.
In the 80s every kid in my school knew who Hulk Hogan was. Several knew of the NWA and Flair and Race and the Von Erichs. Now even though wrestling is much bigger than it was then, few kids at my kids' schools could name the WWE champion. Many would correctly guess John Cena because he has massive pop culture appeal, but it would only be due to coincidence... Hulk Hogan was universal. He was everywhere, and he was larger than life.
Pro wrestling is one of America's indigenous art forms, and Hulk was the one who took it from high school gyms to 50,000 seat arenas.

That was either my sophomore or junior year of high school, and I watched it every week. Super cool. Hulk and Worm enjoyed every single second of that
Macho, gone. Hulk, gone. Razor, gone. RIP.
