Had some insurance stuff going on with the fire and then had a small contingent of equity holders that didn't want to re-open the company.

I promise Drew Ramsey would've opened much sooner if he could've.

I had a full size candy bar the other day and felt sick

When I was a kid I could eat 2 hubig pies, a Barqs root beer, and wash it down with a hershey bar.

O to really know why these guys didnt want to reopen. Thats something Ill never understand, especially in a place like nola. Hubig's are a staple. Why the hell would anyone who owns a piece of that not want to get up and going again?

Differing opinions on long-term profitability.

They got some insurance money from the fire and some wanted to just cash out and close up shop instead of investing more money into new production.

ETA:

Money talks. Most people care more about making money than keeping alive a tradition that could potentially not make them any.

I think the pies will be the same, but the price point might be higher. I'm just guessing though, I haven't spoken to them about that. Tbh, I haven't spoken to the Ramsey clan since Christmas, so I'll have to catch up at Thanksgiving I guess

Yeah if you cut back on sugar consumption, and then you eat something like a candy bar - you feel sick because your body is trying to tell you something.

Sad day for that atrocity known as the Haydel's hand pie.
