Id gladly pay that instead of the 25k i paid to the state of LA in income tax last year

That’s a lot of money to still live in Louisiana and get nothing for it.

I’m trying to avoid 20k a year in taxes so please let me know.

North Conroe Home

Conroe house

These are two I’m looking at currently. Going to have to build out the outdoor kitchen and pool area but there’s enough property to do that.

Subtle, “I make more than $500k+ per year” brag!

It’s actually a lot less once you look into it. 400k isn’t 24k and 500k isn’t 30k

My bill in Austin is over $1000 a month for a modest house.

Rookie numbers. I paid over $10k for property taxes when I lived in a normal middle class Plano home 8 years ago. I can only imagine what it is today.

LA: Made less, paid state income tax, lower property tax, higher sales tax rates, paid for private school, can buy bourbon and tequila from stores on Sundays

TX: Made more, no state income tax, higher property tax, lower sales tax rates, sent kids to local public school that was better than the private education-wise, can't buy bourbon and tequila from stores on Sundays

Main drawback is having to always make sure there's ample supply of boudin, andouille and Evangeline Maid bread in the freezer. However, living in Texas has certainly been much better overall for finances.

Real talk. Supposed to be getting a Best stop in Katy. That’ll make my andouille anxiety a lot better.

It’s a burb of a burb.

It’s was mostly a joke. Conroe is fine. I had a condo in April Sound for a while when my office was on 105.

I can’t figure out where I want to be. I was just told by a good buddy to stay out of Harris county if I can. My office will be in Conroe.

The only good places to live in Harris are pretty central (Heights, Bellaire, Rice, etc.) and that would be a miserable commute. I commuted from Washington Ave to my office on 1488 when I first moved to town. But i was recently divorced and dead set on being central by all the sloots.
