Does a storage unit count as real estate?
If I can't invest and can't buy a house, 350k could buy me a whole lot of stuff that I won't be able to fit it all into my current house, even after a couple of nice ski trips.
If I've really got to consume it, it's going to be a very modest amount of nice stuff and 3 or 4 extravagant trips. Maybe first class to Japan and Norway and Scotland for a month or two each.
ETA: I just noticed charitable contributions - that makes it easier; probably a couple of pieces of stuff, and a big donation to a local org that can use it.
ETETA: I just remembered, I'm retiring fairly soon. So 350k would get me fancy feast instead of friskies.

If I can't gamble, save, invest....
General consuming would be a waste. By and take $350,000 or less in flights to get lifetime platinum with delta or united.
