How would you handle vulgar music being played in popular retail establishments?

I had the misfortune of dealing with a reprehensible “manager” of a popular and busy retail establishment in New York City.
There are kids shopping in this establishment and the unedited versions of these “rap” songs are blaring. You can only imagine the disgusting language being blasted throughout the store.
I asked to speak with a manager to air my grievances about this foul language being played. She basically told me to contact someone at their corporate office and quite honestly couldn’t care less.
How would you have handle this situation?
