How to tell co-worker they smell?

This guy walks around and smells like straight arse everyday. Dont think he knows what deodorant is.

As your walking by, says "whats that smell?" Stop then look around everywhere like you lost your kid. If he stops, then he knows.

Seriously be a man. Don't go talking to other employees about it either.... the guy may have some issues or going through some gongs. Be straight up with him and talk with him privately that you have noticed this this and this and letting him know it's noticeable and how being professional sucks sometimes but this this and this is expected.

A friend told me they had a woman in their office that was taking excessive garlic supplements and before they confronted her on her hygiene, they had to contact their hr/legal dept on how to proceed with a course of action. I'm sure that made an interesting conversation.

I actually had to do this with a one of our millwrights. Dude didn't take a shower for three days and his roommate at the hotel came to me to complain about it. I finally had to tell him either he was going to shower and he was going to unemployed. Working 12 hours per day in 100F temps in a paper mill, then he would get back to the hotel and go to sleep. It was disgusting, and we made him pay for the damage the hotel charged us for getting grease all over the sheets and mattress.

Had the same problem, except with a girl (Indian). Wasn't about to tell her myself and get into a shite storm, so I told HR. They took care of it with the quickness. The girl in HR said she was used to handling issues like that because she had to work with a team from France before.
