This....plus the guy instigated it by moving towards the moose in the beginning.

Its pretty obvious that it was he was trying to do. Consequently, with moose being territorial, that probably made it worse.

Some of these posters are making it seem like the guy was doing that in hopes the moose would attack him just so he could shoot it

No one is necessarily saying that. My point is maybe he should learn what to do in the wild in such situations BEFORE he gets on a snow mobile and goes into the wild and starts yee-hawing at every wild animal in his path and act like he's swinging an anaconda between his legs.

OR...

He could have taken the path to the left and avoided the whole situation to begin with!

You would think he'd have a little bit of wildlife/survival training and understand that nothing is going to scare a territorial moose. You're supposed to run. If anything, carry some bear mace with you. I don't see how people think he was trying to do anything but scare the moose away, though. It was just the opposite of what you're supposed to do.

Also, rational thought is so much easier on the internet vs. if a moose is kicking you in the chest and your son is right behind you.

Yeah that's what it was. Dude was searching for his kid wearing a gopro and capping moose along the way. Great insight buddy.

A lot of rescue workers wear go pros now for training/learning purposes FWIW.

I wasn't saying that is what he was doing, I'm just saying you fellers don't know the situation other than what you saw.

The moose is dangerous. You don't know if he could have gone another way or not.

He should not have left it wounded like that. If you are going to shoot it you need to finish the job.

Yeah the guy is obviously not a hunter or he would have had more respect and not left the moose injured to suffer.
