My cynicism drives me. It gives me an opportunity to be proven right over and over daily. That, folks, is a real shame.

Stick around, it gets worse.

You do understand that negativity and cynicism are two different things, don't you?
Regarding Cynicism, we may not need to overcome it...we need to embrace it on all occasions, not just the occasions that we choose. We need to be more cynical with the sources and people we trust, not just the ones we do not trust. Once a political party, a movement or a person thinks they have your trust, they are more likely to try to manipulate you.
This happens on the left and right, by the way.
A society without cynics is doomed..

It’s difficult to not be cynical with the day to day grind.
I guess I just tell myself it can always be worse.

Sure (but they are certainly siblings or at least close cousins).
However, if you will actually read what I was responding to:
quote:
Negativity makes everything worse.
Then, my response is spot on.

I don't necessarily disagree with this.

... you are correct, good sir! Sorry, as I should not have posted my reply to your post. your response is spot on.

The costco shooting thing is so ridiculous Like it’s such a big store if something like that happened I probably wouldn’t even hear it much less get shot
You frickers are always hung up on whatever examples people use, instead of actually addressing the issue.. Ok, replace ‘Costco’ with ‘Trader Joes’ or with ‘Ace Hardware’.. the point is, everywhere most Americans go these days, you have to be hyper aware b/c some gun fetishist might be lurking and take you out, it happens all the time- even at churches and schools .

I really don’t think you’ll ever be able to do it.

You change the way you think. Anytime you start thinking negatively you snap yourself out of it and stop doing it. Negative thinking is a choice and you don’t have to do it.
