Yes. Get up every morning and write down 3 things you are grateful for. This simple act will do wonders for your daily temperate.

How do i survive ? Very, very carefully.. it’s actually kinda hard to survive in 2023 when you have to keep ur head on a swivel every time you go to a freaking Costco, lest some ammosexual with an automatic weapon* decides to take out his grievances on a store full of people .

Seriously, the fact that many here cant even see that we have an absolutely crazy gun culture in America is disturbing.. and yes, it can make one cynical.. Id suggest yall go spend just a little time in other countries where they arent as fanatical about guns .

*For Roger the Pussy- per his post below.. ANY type of weapon

Are you talking about the 2% that commits more than 50% of the murders?

Or something else?

Nah, youre just a pussy. Ive never felt threatened at COSTCO. Might move out of your shitty neighborhood.

I've never seen an automatic weapon in the hands of a citizen, personally. But I also didnt participate in the military.

Can you define this?

I’ll be the first to admit that therapy is just paying to talk to a liberal until you agree with them but if you actually worry about this stuff you should talk to somebody

Seriously, to really change takes a lot of effort and self discipline.

One has to focus on always correcting one’s thinking constantly as it occurs. Only through this constant self discipline will one change over time and it may take years.

Ya really got me there !! I tell ya what Sparky, to avoid getting into a tiff about semantics, which is apparently exactly what you want- i will go back and edit my post accordingly .. That way we aren’t having to discuss types of weapons on a thread about cynicism, ok ? Will that make you less triggered ??

Bingo. Actions arent enough, need to police our feelings.

You can become whatever you want with enough discipline. I have gone through some medical stuff that required some heart hardening, now its time to back off a bit.

The costco shooting thing is so ridiculous

Like it’s such a big store if something like that happened I probably wouldn’t even hear it much less get shot

Liberals are so neurotic always thinking they’re gonna get killed by things that aren’t real like Covid and mass shootings. Why do you care about dying so bad if you’re gonna spend your whole life fretting?

Its not semantics. Its stupidity.

Automatic weapons are illegal in the hands of most citizens unless you pay money to the government.

Good and bad, right and wrong is just human opinion.

This is the seed of justifying evil deeds. When governments or people want to justify doing evil things such as committing genocide, theft or whatever, the fist thing they do is dehumanize others to change peoples opinions to later justify their evil actions. Stalin, Mao and Hitler all wiped out large groups of people by justifying and convincing people that wrong is right, it's a pattern throughout history.

Dostoevsky wrote that "Without God, all things are permitted." That's not an invitation to party, it's a warning.

When youre young, the cone of acceptance is wider as you go. When you reach 45-50, it starts to reverse as you can no longer tolerate mundane things and constant excuses for poor behavior.

Confidence spurs this behavior. The more you need from others, the more tolerant you'll be of their behavior.

Force yourself to intentionally look for the bad in everything. If you really are a cynic, you’ll say “there is no point in doing such a stupid thing” and you’ll see things more positively

This is dead on. This place can be a poison as much as much as a lot of social media. I think anywhere that is bombarding our brains with a ridiculous amount of content can be. Just not really how we evolved to interact and process things.
