Senate Democrats have now voted 12 times to not fund the food stamp program, also known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Bottom line, the well has run dry. At this time, there will be no benefits issued November 01. We are approaching an inflection point for Senate Democrats. They can continue to hold out for healthcare for illegal aliens and gender mutilation procedures or reopen the government so mothers, babies, and the most vulnerable among us can receive critical nutrition assistance.

The SNAP shutoff is not happening. Every state will find a way to fund it for November, and the shutdown will end in November.

The Mississippi Department of Human Services announced yesterday that SNAP benefits for November will not be issued.

Hey dumbass, if the republicans control every branch of gov't, then the gov't won't be in a shutdown.

The R's don't want the government to shut down, they have a clean continuing resolution on the table that will continue all the current gov't operations. All the D's have to do is sign it, but the D's that wanted to add trillions of tax dollars to our current budget.

How much of a retard do you have to be to not understand this and default to 'Epstein'. Do you not think that if there were ANY incriminating evidences in those files against Trump, they would have released during Biden's admin?

I wouldn't expect the farmers and shippers and grocery store executives to take more than a few hours of whining and sniveling before the money is flowing again....hell just a few of the Walmart heirs will probably have to be hospitalized as soon as they find out their entire workforce and 85% of their customer base hasn't got the money to buy a months worth or great value crap and the poor billionaires may have to put off buying that 7th mansion on the French Riviera....its a damn shame what the shutdown may do to the billionaire class...hell those frickers might have to clip coupons and eat day old bread for a day and half....

Walmart needs to employe a couple thousand rooftop Koreans. problem solved.

How on earth could another couple of thousand Walmart employees being added to the food stamp rolls and not getting the food stamps would solve the problem? If they worked for Walmart their first day of training will consist of being taught how to collect food stamps so they will have the energy to work at Walmart 'cause Walmart sure as hell ain't footing the fuel bill for their employee's production out of Walmart wallet....

walmart is the biggest lobby to continue funding snap

And by far the largest beneficiary. They ain't alone though, farmers, food conglomerates, transportation companies....the list is exhaustive of the very wealthy and influential people who drive the food stamp program. It won't matter in the short term but over the long term the program also stabilizes production and demand and makes it possible for everyone to pay a little less for groceries. It makes it possible for producers to produce and when that doesn't happen demand stays the same....people are hungry with or without food...supply slows and prices increase.

While you will be lambasted for this outside the MAGA bubble the public sentiment knows it to be true. The GOP is going to take a major hit and the reason is clear...they asked for control of every branch of government and they were given control...but they failed to gain enough control and here we are. Legislators from blue states represent a far greater share of the US population than the slim majority who voted for Donald Trump. There are 2 Dakotas, 2- Carolinas and There are fewer people people represented by 6 Republicans in those 3 states than there are in New Jersey and Illinois...not to mention California and the entirety of the western half of the western US not on the ocean. Those blue state legislators are doing EXACTLY what their constituents sent them to Washington to do....leverage what power they have to reign in Trump and company. On the flip side of that very few of those voters in red states voted to cut their own benefits and raise their health insurance costs but that is exactly what the GOP would do if the Dems do not stand their ground. The GOP acts as if they have a mandate when in fact they won the white house on a slim majority and do not have the numbers of supporters across most of the US as legislators do...and like it or not there are 3 bodies required and 2 of them do not have the numbers to force their agenda down the throat of the majority represented by the minority party. The GOP asked for the reigns of power, they have it, they simply forgot that it does not mean the Dems are meaningless....and the majority of the American people know this and see if for exactly what it is....the GOP can win elections, what they always fail to do is govern.

Those Dems are doing exactly what their constituents sent them to congress to do and represent more people as legislators than the GOP does. It is the will of the majority of the American people. Polls support this fact...the majority of Americans see it as a failing of the GOP which is exactly what it is....

Nearly 64% of the population of the United States is represented in the US Senate by Democrats compared to nearly 36% represented by Republicans. Donald Trump won the 2025 election by 1.3%. It is clears as a glass of ice water who has a mandate in the United States and it ain't the one who was elected by 1.3%. The GOP is either faced with negotiating against superior numbers of people OR blowing up the filibuster and opening the door for all manner of ill shite when they lose power....this is a GOP mess and it ain't close....

So do you support using the nuclear option in the Senate to do away with filibustering and the 60 vote requirement to end debate on govt funding bills in the Senate? Just allow a simple majority to both end debate on funding and to then vote to pass the funding bill??

Dems aren’t allowing the Senate to even vote on the CR. It takes 60 votes to end debate in the Senate, and so far only 2 or 3 Dems have voted to allow a vote on the CR to continue funding of the govt.

The Dems are relying on people like you being ignorant of the Senate cloture rules which I think I learned about in junior high if not earlier.

Who cares. It wouldn’t matter if it were 99% to 1%. We live in America where the states that formed our country specifically wanted the Senate to protect States with less populations. Same reason every State gets at least 1 rep in the House.

Your Dems will not allow a vote up or down on funding govt and welfare. You are starving your own.

Why didn’t you compare votes for the House in 2024 elections that were held for every seat in the country? The number each state gets is based on population. We know who won the house, but which party had the most popular votes??

2024 House elections - total popular vote by party: 74,390,864 versus 70,571,330

Now guess which party of candidates got 74,390,864 votes???

Donald Trump won the 2025 election by 1.3%.

So are you now switching to actual voters in 2024 instead of populations represented, because Trump is the President for the entire country including every citizen whether they like it or not.

And when talking about populations are you excluding illegals and other non-citizens here temporarily?

So you’re one of those people who are just brimming with their ‘profound’ thoughts and opinions that you can’t wait to disperse them on everyone with these long-arse posts?

Spoiler: no one cares and no one is reading them.

BTW: here’s the distribution of the US counties: D’s= blue R’s= red

Are you saying that the D’s have the majority voice of the US?
