26, owned 3 so far

First was a 1977 ranch that I renovated and sold to exwife in divorce ten years after purchase

Second was a 2004 starter home I recently sold for a very nice profit

Third is an awesome 2007 two story with a 75yo Live Oak in the back

live on a small(150 acres) cattle and race horse ranch. Great grandparents bought first of it and built a house. Then grandparents built next to them and continued the ranch. Parents next but they didnt build they moved into great parents house when they passed and that is where I grew up. Since then my uncle built his house and I built mine on the property. I was 25 when I built financed for 15 years......3 more years and I actually own it. So only the 1 house which I will very likely die in I have no intention on living anywhere else. I did buy 2 separate tracts of land one 7 acres and one 12 that are in places that I hunt. The 7 acre piece I moved my great grandpaw's old turpentine cabin up to and the 12 acres had a cabin already on it so if things go south and I do leave I will likely just sell out and buy a houseboat and split time between there and my cabins.

Built my first house at 26 and moved in 4 days after I turned 27. Built it to add on, so will likely stay until my parents are gone since I’m right next to them. Planning on buying the 6 acres next to me in time. Currently living on 2.5.

that's a hell of an edit to your response

Sure is. Part about paying the houses off is flat out fantasy. Unfortunately the part about our current home's value sinking because of all the flooded homes around us is not. Our house didn't flood so we have that going for us. We don't really plan on selling anytime soon but it still sucks that we are technically, by definition, under water on our mortgage. We owe about $10,000 more than it's market value now. When we bought it, it was appraised for $40,000 more than we owe right now.

Just turned 33 and I've never owned a home. I have no kids, but recently got married. So, in a few years, we'll probably settle down somewhere. I currently live in New Iberia and even though I grew up here, there is no way in hell I would want to settle down there. Bad thing is that I have a good job, but it is in an even crappier town than New Iberia, Franklin.

23, no down payment, no financial help. 2 homes purchased in total. The second was bought less than a year ago, here in FL. A little sticker shock from my little Baton Rouge townhouse back in 2005.

38. I've had it for little over a year.

Made no sense to buy a house when I was active duty and galavanting across the globe.
